BRUSSELS, June 27 (Xinhua) -- The government of Flanders, the Dutch-speaking northern half of Belgium, has set up an information point for businesses that are worried about the consequences of Britain's vote to leave the European Union, regional newspaper Flanders Today reported Monday.
The Flemish government's export agency, Flanders Investment and Trade, will answer questions and provide advice about Brexit on a newly set-up hotline.
Flemish Minister-President Geert Bourgeois is due to visit the Flanders Export Fair in Brussels on Monday to address the issue, the newspaper added.
"Companies that do business internationally need to have security -- legal, fiscal and social security. Of course, companies will have questions about what the consequences of Brexit are for them in concrete terms, so Flanders has set up this hotline to give Flemish companies advice," he said.
Flanders Investment and Trade said in a statement: "To be perfectly clear, nothing will change in the short-term. Flemish businesses will continue to export to the United Kingdom. Trade doesn't just fall quiet from one day to the next."
According to the export agency, Britain is the fourth biggest export destination for Flanders. Britain voted by 51.9 percent to leave the European Union in a referendum Thursday last week.
