TAIPEI, July 6 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from an elderly care center fire in Taiwan has risen to six after three critically injured seniors died in hospital, according to hospital sources.
The fire broke out at about 7 a.m. Wednesday on the eighth floor of a building in Xindian District, New Taipei City, trapping 42 people in the center. Fire fighters put out the blaze in 40 minutes.
Three bodies were found at the scene.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
