HOUSTON, July 7 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and at least one other injured on Thursday after a highway bridge collapsed in west Houston, the U.S. state of Texas.
The accident occurred around 10 a.m. local time and a big rig was blamed for the collapse of the bridge near the city of Sealy, local TV station ABC13 reported.
The big rig crashed into the bridge, causing the partial collapse, the report said.
Three people were extracted from a white car partially crushed by a portion of the bridge that fell, including two children, it added.
A 12-year-old girl died from her injuries and a female driver was rushed to a nearby hospital with a chest injury, it said. Enditem
