BEIJING, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Top Chinese legislator Zhang Dejiang told visiting Pakistan lawmakers on Friday that the National People's Congress (NPC) is ready to increase exchanges with Pakistan's National Assembly.
Zhang, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, said China is also excited about pushing forward the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
He called on the two countries to strengthen counter-terrorism and security collaboration.
Zhang thanked Pakistan for its support on sovereign disputes in the South China Sea.
There is consensus in Pakistan about the need to strengthen ties with China, and Pakistan will continue to adhere to the one-China policy and support China on the South China Sea and other major issues, said Deputy Speaker of Pakistan's National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi.
