ANKARA, July 18 (Xinhua) -- A total of 208 people were killed by coup attempting soldiers, including 60 police officers, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said in a press conference on Monday.

He said three of the 208 were soldiers and 145 were civilians.

Another 1,491 people were also wounded.

Yildirim said 7,543 people -- 6,038 soldiers, 755 judges and prosecutors, 100 police officers and 650 civilians -- have been detained after the failed coup attempt that started on July 15.

A total of 316 among the detained were arrested, he said.

Yildirim said investigations are still underway and that detentions continue within security forces.

"Fifteen hundred officials in the Finance Ministry and 8,777 officials in the Interior Ministry have been suspended from their duties," he added.

Yildirim said there will be no let-up in the country's determination to fight terror.

He said the Turkish financial system is sound and that the Central Bank is ready to take any measures.
