HONG KONG, July 24 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted 9km E of Obihiro, Japan at 02:51:19 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 93.02 km, was initially determined to be at 42.9042 degrees north latitude and 143.3169 degrees east longitude.
