NEW YORK, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Ivanka Trump, the eldest daughter of Donald Trump, successfully demonstrated her business savvy by marketing her fashion look on social media after the 2016 Republican National Convention.
Donald Trump officially accepted the presidential nomination for the U.S. Republican Party on Thursday night in Cleveland in the state of Ohio.
Ivanka, who gave a speech on behalf of her businessman father at the Republican convention, took advantage of all the attention paid to the simple blush-colored sleeveless dress she wore, to send out a tweet the next morning telling people where they could buy the garment.
She tweeted a link to a similar dress with a price at 138 U.S. dollars, saying "Shop Ivanka's look from her #RNC speech," with a photo of herself introducing her father for his nomination acceptance speech.
The item sold out just a few hours after it is placed on Macy's and Nordstorm's online stores.
Some U.S. media pointed out that it is probably the first time the daughter of a major party nominee has promoted a clothing line in conjunction with her father's presidential campaign.
Ivanka got involved into the fashion industry in 2007 with a jewelry collection and has expanded her own line of fashion items into clothes, handbags, shoes, and accessories.
Forbes this week reported that her clothing line did 100 million U.S. dollars in revenues in the last fiscal year.
