VIENTIANE, July 25 (Xinhua) -- China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on Monday reaffirmed their efforts to "promote peace, stability, mutual trust and confidence" in the South China Sea.
A joint statement, issued after a foreign ministers' meeting between China and ASEAN members in the Lao capital, said they are committed to the full and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea and working substantively toward the early adoption of a Code of Conduct based on consensus.
