NANCHANG, China, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Duan Yingying of China came from one set down to beat Han Xinyun 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 to advance into the women's singles quarterfinals of the WTA 2016 Jiangxi Open here on Thursday.
The tough battle between two Chinese players lasted for two hours and 17 minutes.
"We often train together so we know each other well," said Duan, "Before the competition I was ready for the worst, so I must be myself first, and then do my best to win the game."
In other matches of the day, Liu Fangzhou of China beat Jang Su-jeong of South Korea 6-4, 6-3, while Misa Eguchi of Japan beat Zhu Lin of China 6-4, 6-2.
The match between Nara Kurumi of Japan and Chang Kai-chen of Chinese Taipei was postponed until Friday due to rain.
