HOUSTON, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Seven people were injured Friday after a flash fire broke out at a refinery in Port Arthur, a city about 146 km east of Houston in the U.S. state of Texas.
The fire happened at the Sunoco refinery, the largest oil refinery in the United States with a maximum production capacity of 636,500 barrels per day.
The Jefferson County police confirmed the blaze, but did not say when the fire occurred and what caused the fire, which sent the seven people with burns to a local hospital, according to local TV station ABC13.
There is no danger to the surrounding area, the police said, adding that authorities are on the scene to investigate the accident.
