RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Dalilah Muhammad of the Unitedd States took gold in the women's 400m hurdles at the Rio Olympics on Thursday, holding off Sara Slott Peterson of Denmark.
Muhammad, 26, clocked 53.15 seconds to beat Petersen by 0.42 seconds in light rain at the Olympic Stadium.
Her fellow American Ashley Spencer claimed bronze in a personal best of 53.72.
Two-time world champion Zuzana Hejnova of the Czech Republic finished the fourth in 53.92.
