ANKARA, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were killed and 12 wounded in an Islamic State (IS) attack on Thursday in the Syrian border town of Jarablus, Turkish officials told Daily Sabah.
The wounded were taken to hospitals in Turkey's southern province of Gaziantep, the report said.
Two days earlier, two Turkish soldiers were killed and five others injured when their tanks came under IS attack in northern Syria.
Tuesday's attack occurred in south of al-Rai, where Turkish tanks and armored personnel carriers were deployed to support Ankara-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters in their southward advance against IS militants, Turkish media reported.
On Aug. 24, the Turkish military started a cross-border operation dubbed "Euphrates Shield," driving out IS militants from the Syrian border town of Jarablus.
