SARAJEVO, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Economic growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) was accelerating and the growth of three percent is expected in 2016, Francisco Parodi, IMF Resident Representative for BiH, said here on Thursday.

Parodi made this comment at the opening of a two-day international conference "FinConf", dedicated to innovation in the financial sector, which opened Thursday in Sarajevo.

The banking sector in BiH was adequately capitalized and stable, but there are segments of vulnerability, such as banks that are not in good condition, as well as nonperforming loans, added Parodi.

Parodi also pointed out that the present deflation "imported" from the EU is evident, but the situation is generally stable.

In the October edition of its World Economic Outlook report, the IMF stated that it has maintained its forecast for BiH's economic growth at 3.0 percent in 2016 and 3.2 percent in 2017. Enditem
