SEOUL, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) failed to launch an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) early Sunday, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said.
The Yonhap news agency quoted the JCS as saying that it appeared to be a Musudan missile that apparently exploded shortly after liftoff from the DPRK's northwestern Pyongan province.
