MADRID, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann beat stars including Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to be named La Liga player of the season for 2015/16 on Monday.
Atletico dominated the awards as Diego Simeone took the coach of the season award, Jan Oblak was best goalkeeper, Diego Godin top defender and Frenchman Griezmann claimed the fans' award.
Barcelona's Uruguay striker Luis Suarez was named the top non-EU player and Real Madrid's Luka Modric was named best midfielder.
Barca's Argentina international Messi was selected as the best forward at the award ceremony in Valencia.
