ISLAMABAD, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Pakistani military said on Sunday that at least four civilians were injured in Indian firing at the working boundary between the two bitter neighbors.
Intermittent exchange of fire continues at working boundary in Harpar, Chaprar, Pukhlian and Shakargarh sectors since Saturday, an army statement said.
"Four civilians were injured at working boundary due to unprovoked Indian firing. Pakistani troops are effectively targeting Indian posts," the statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations said.
The army also rejected an Indian claim of hitting and being able to destroy any Pakistani post at Line of Control (LoC) in Neelum valley on Friday.
Pakistan and India had declared ceasefire along the LoC and the Working Boundary in 2003. But both accuse each other of violating the ceasefire as tensions between them worsened since last month.
The escalations now cause civilian casualties. On Friday the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said that six civilians, including two women, were killed by the Indian "unprovoked" firing in two days at the working boundary and the LoC.
