KABUL, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Afghan newspapers in their editorials on Tuesday blamed security lapse for facilitating the terrorist groups to penetrate into cities and launch deadly attacks.

According to the newspapers, Monday's suicide bombing inside a mosque in Kabul, for which the extremist group of Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility, clearly bespeaks negligence of security lapse within the establishment.

"The prime responsibility of the government is to provide security for its citizens," the influential Daily Etilaat-e-Roze writes in its editorial.

"All those security officials who committed negligence in discharging their duty should be tried and brought to justice," the editorial stressed.

The deadly suicide bombing among worshipers in a mosque on Monday left more than 30 people dead and injured over 70 others. Among the injured were several women and children.

Afghan officials including President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah blamed the deadly attack on "enemies of Afghanistan" and strongly denounced it.

"Repeating such words that "enemies of Afghanistan are behind such attacks is not the remedy to check terrorist activities," the paper said, adding no doubt the terrorist who reached the mosque on Monday had crossed checkpoints manned by police, intelligence agency and national army service members.

"Like Taliban and Haqqani network terror groups, the Islamic State this year also joined the war against the Afghan government and Afghan people to victimize innocent civilians," the Daily Afghanistan wrote in its editorial on Tuesday.

It also noted that Afghans would pay more price in the terrorist act unless the security apparatus "put in place all necessary measures" to thwart terror activities.

Condemning the bloody suicide bombing inside the mosque in Kabul, the Afghanistan Times wrote in its editorial on Tuesday "There is need for a joint ethnic forum where the leaders of the respective communities should come under one roof to cooperate against terrorism."
