Vietnam's southern stock market ends down

HO CHI MINH CITY, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 675.87 points on Friday, down 2.31 points, or 0.34 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.

About 115.873 million shares worth 2.531 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (114.34 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 95 stocks went up, 136 stocks fell down, while 54 stocks remained unchanged.

VN30-Index, the new benchmark index for the southern bourse, which tracks the 30 leading stocks by both market capitalization and liquidity, closed at 643.38 points, down 4.09 points, or 0.63 percent.

A total of 52.256 million shares worth 1.180 trillion VND (53.34 million U.S. dollars) were traded on Friday.
