ATHENS, Nov. 26 (Xinhua)-- Greece's Left-led government bid farewell to Cuba's leader Fidel Castro who passed away on Saturday, praising his legacy and pledging continuation of the struggle "until peoples' eternal victory."
"Fidel Castro was the guarantor of his people's dignity and independence and set the foundations for the regional cooperation in Latin America," Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras wrote on his social media account.
"Goodbye comandante. Until the peoples' eternal victory!" Tsipras wrote.
"We express our deep condolences to the people and the government of Cuba for the loss of Fidel Castro, an emblematic figure in world politics and a good friend of Greece," read a statement issued by the Greek Foreign Ministry.
