NATO trains Ukrainian officers about civil-military cooperation

BRUSSELS, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- NATO conducted a training mission in Ukraine with the purpose of educating Ukrainian officers about the civil-military cooperation, NATO said Wednesday.

A team of personnel from NATO's Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum visited the Ukrainian National Defence University "Ivan Chernyakhovsky" at Kiev between Nov. 21-24.

The five-person team, led by Commander Yasen Kenarov from the Bulgarian Armed Forces, provided several lectures and training scenarios to the Ukranian students.

According to NATO, this is its ninth team visit to Ukraine since 2014.

In the wake of the Ukraine crisis, cooperation between NATO and Ukraine has been enhanced.

At the 2014 Wales Summit, NATO Allies established the tailored package of programs to enhance Ukraine's ability to provide for its own security.
