HOHHOT, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- There have been 17 fatalities and 10 people remain trapped following an explosion at a coal mine in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Saturday.
In the latest update, time stamped 7:00 p.m., Chifeng City government said four miners had been rescued and the search continued for the remaining 10. There were 31 people working underground at time of the accident.
The explosion happened around midday at Baoma Mining Co. Ltd. in Chifeng. An investigation has been launched.
