ANKARA, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- A Kurdish militant group Tuesday claimed responsibility for the deadly terror attack in the Turkish central city of Kayseri, according to its website statement.

The Kurdistan Freedom Hawks (TAK), a militant group linked to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist organization, said that it targeted the off-duty soldiers and "successfully carried out the attack."

A bus transporting soldiers was hit by an explosion near Erciyes University in Kayseri, leaving 14 killed and 55 wounded early on Saturday.

TAK had also claimed the twin bombings which killed 44 people in Istanbul on Dec. 10.

The group is known to claim the PKK terrorist attack bombings perpetrated in urban centers, against civilian population.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union.

Turkey has come under 10 major deadly attacks this year, in which at least 270 people were killed. The attacks were mostly blamed on the Islamic State and the PKK.
