KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- Four militants allegedly responsible for the killing of five female employees of Kandahar airport in southern Kandahar province have been arrested, deputy to Kandahar provincial police chief Rahmatullah Atrafi said.
"We have arrested four Taliban terrorists responsible for the brutal murder of five female employees of Kandahar airport and all of them have admitted to their affiliation with the Taliban group," Atrafi told reporters here.
The arrested men, according to the official, had received order from their commander Mullah Mubarak to kill the female employees of the airport.
Five female employees of Kandahar airport along with their driver were shot dead by unknown gunmen on Dec. 17 while on why to duty.
Efforts are underway to locate and identify all those terrorists involved in targeting innocent citizens and terrorizing the people, the official added.
However, Taliban who are against women working outside home, have yet to claim responsibility for killing the five female employees.
