KATHMANDU, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Nepalese government on Wednesday appointed Govinda Raj Pokharel as the new Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction Authority to oversee post-earthquake reconstruction-related works, a government spokesman said here.
A Cabinet meeting decided to appoint Pokharel as the new CEO of the reconstruction authority, sacking Sushil Gyewali from the top position, government spokesman Surendra Karki told media.
The Himalayan country was rocked by a massive earthquake in April 25, 2015 that claimed over 9,000 lives, leaving thousands injured.
