TOKYO, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares dropped early Thursday as U.S. President-elect Donald Trump revealed little about his economic stimulus plan at a news conference earlier.
As of 9:15 a.m. local time, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 170.74 points, or 0.88 percent, from Wednesday to 19,193.93.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 11.69 points, or 0.75 percent, to 1,538.71.
Decliners were led by pharmaceutical, precision instrument and insurance issues.
