BEIJING, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- A 5.5-magnitude earthquake hits Yarkant County of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 5:54 p.m. Friday (Beijing Time), according to the initial measurement of the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 38.30 degrees north latitude and 76.71degrees east longitude.
