THE HAGUE, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga won the 44th edition of the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam on Sunday, beating Belgian David Goffin 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 in the final.

The 31-year-old Tsonga, No. 14 on the ATP World Ranking, started sloppy and gave away the first set to his Belgian opponent. After Tsonga won the second set, Goffin's resistance broke and the Frenchman easily took the decisive third set and the win at the ATP 500 event.

Tsonga, who lost in the final of the Dutch indoor hardcourt tournament in 2011, became the fourth Frenchman to win the title in Rotterdam. Compatriots Cedric Pioline (2000), Nicolas Escude (2001 and 2002) and Michael Llodra (2008) did the same.

"I am very happy with this title," Tsonga said in reaction to his 13th tournament victory on the ATP World Tour. "This title comes at the right time, for the last few months I have been working hard to get back to this level."
