HANOI, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam has required its seafood shipments to conduct registration of e-certificates from March, the National Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQAD) said on Thursday.
Specifically, from March 1, 2017, seafood shipments exported to China and South Korea must have e-certificates while those to other markets will be required after the software is completely installed, said the department.
From March 15, the NAFIQAD will stop handling problems related to certificates registered through paper records for South Korea and China, it said.
In May 2016, the NAFIQAD piloted the implementation of granting certificates for seafood shipments exported to South Korea and China on the National Single Window system.
After nearly 10 months, over 1,200 records have been registered on the system and nearly 600 certificates have been granted.
However, up to now, the number of e-certificates granted through the system stood much lower than the total issued certificates.
