YANGON, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Personal antagonism was behind the assassination of legal adviser to the ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) U Ko Ni, according to an official on Saturday.
Kyaw Swe, minister for home affairs, made the remarks here in Yangon. He told the media that the personal antagonism arose from extreme nationalism.
Two escaping suspects -- Aung Win Khiang and Zeya Phyo involved in conspiring the Jan. 29 assassination, were found to plot the assassination of U Ko Ni at a cafe in Yangon last year, said Zaw Win, chief of police.
Three suspects including Zeya Phyo have been arrested and the Police Force are cooperating with Interpol and ASEAN Police to capture Aung Win Khaing, aged 45, who served as Lt-Colonel in the military till 2014.
The NLD has condemned the assassination of U Ko Ni, calling for prompt exposure of the masterminder behind the plot.
