JERUSALEM, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- A rocket launched from the Gaza Strip hit southern Israel before dawn on Monday but caused no injuries, the Israeli army said.
"A projectile fired from the Gaza Strip hit an open area in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council in southern Israel," a military statement said.
Israeli security forces were searching the targeted area to recover fragments for investigation, the statement said.
Earlier February, Israel struck Gaza with air and artillery strikes, which injured three Palestinians, after a rocket was launched from the besieged Palestinian enclave. The rocket caused no injuries or damage.
