GAZA, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian sources said Monday Israeli fighter jets struck Gaza Strip, hours after rockets were launched from the Strip toward southern Israel.
Palestinian Civil Defense spokesperson Mohammad Al-Maydanah told Xinhua that the Israeli airstrikes targeted training facilities that belong to Islamic Hamas Movement's military wing, Al-Qassam brigades, with three rockets.
Medical sources said that two were slightly injured after the third strike.
Security officials in the Hamas-run government said that Israeli jets launched three separate and successive airstrikes on northern, central and southern Gaza Strip, leaving behind "massive damage."
The Israeli army said that a rocket launched from the Gaza Strip hit southern Israel before dawn on Monday but caused no injuries.
"A projectile fired from the Gaza Strip hit an open area in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council in southern Israel," a military statement said.
