PANAMA CITY, March 5 (Xinhua) -- At least 16 people were killed on Sunday when a bus plunged off a bridge in central Panama, local media reported.
The bus was carrying farm workers from the western province of Bocas del Toro to a farm in eastern Panama City, the country's capital.
The bus plunged some 50 meters off a bridge over the Guabas River, in the central Anton region.
At least 35 people were injured in the accident, and the seriously injured were transported by helicopter to several different hospitals, said the reports.
Government spokesman Manuel Dominguez said on Twitter that the dead are all adult males.
