STOCKHOLM, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Several accidents have occurred on a highway leading to the Arlanda international airport, including a pileup involving 25 vehicles which injured five or six people.
It took more than three hours to clean the lanes, Swedish Television reported.
The Swedish weather service, SMHI, issued a severe weather warning for Sweden's east coast on Tuesday, where heavy snowfall, harsh gales and slippery roads affected the traffic and caused several accidents.
On Tuesday morning, most of the snow came down over the Baltic Sea but it moved inland and intensified throughout the day. There were several accidents on a number of highways as well as in central Uppsala, just north of Stockholm.
