HANOI, March 8 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnamese national football team is planning to gather here on March 20 to get prepared for the third qualification round of the 2019 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup.
Before battling against Afghanistan in the first round of matches in Group C, Vietnam will play in a friendly game with China's Taiwan in Hanoi on March 22, reported local Tien Phong (Pioneer) newspaper on Wednesday.
According to AFC announcement, the match between Vietnam and Afghanistan will take place in Tajikistan's capital of Dushanbe as the security situation in Afghanistan is not ensured.
The Vietnamese team will travel to Tajikistan four days before the match to spend time in recovering and getting used to weather and stadium conditions.
As planned, the Vietnam-Afghanistan match will kick off at 8 p.m. Vietnamese time (1300 GMT) on March 28, reported Tien Phong.
