French shares drop 0.15 pct

PARIS, March 22 (Xinhua) -- French stock market index, the CAC 40 lost 0.15 percent, or 7.73 points, to close at 4,994.70 points on Wednesday.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 21 lost in the day.

Assurance group AXA tumbled 1.84 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. Banking firm Societe Generale was down 1.53 percent. Hotel Group Accor lost 1.4 percent.

Aeronautic group Safran rose 1.53 percent, the top gainer of the day. French telecom giant Bouygues was up 1.14 percent. Another consulting giant Capgemini was up 0.91 percent. Enditem
