MANAMA, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Bahrain's court sentenced on Thursday three suspects out of total 17 to death penalty for forming a terror group, Bahrain News Agency reported.
Among the other 14, four were sentenced to life imprisonment, eight for 15 years and two for 10 years in jail.
According to the court documents, the defendants had formed and joined a dangerous terror cell that made explosive devices and firearms and used them against policemen in acts of terror in the Northern Governorate.
The culprits used the weapons to inflict heavy casualties among the public security forces and material damage in order to cause panic and spread chaos among citizens and residents. The defendants also detonated the terror bombings in Al-Qurraayah area injuring public security men.
