VIENTIANE, March 24 (Xinhua) -- The Lao stock market closed on Friday down 3.70 percent compared to the previous trading day.
The Lao Securities Exchange composite index decreased by 40.90 points to reach 1,065.05 points after closing.
A total of 49,300 shares worth about 269 million Lao kip (nearly 32,816 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.
There are five companies listed at the Lao stock market. Souvanny Home Center Public Company (SVN), Petroleum Trading Lao Public Company (PTL) and Lao World Public Company (LWPC) had no trade.
Shares of Lao commercial bank Banque Pour Le Commerce Exterieur Lao (BCEL) stayed unchanged at 5,500 Lao kip (over 67 U.S. cents).
Shares of state-run energy giant Electricite du Laos Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) fell by 4.55 percent to 5,250 Lao kip (over 64 U.S. cents).
