PYONGYANG, March 24 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will carry out a nationwide census next year in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund, the official news agency KCNA reported Friday.
The DPRK government set up a state census committee which has formulated plans for the census, according to the state-run media.
It said that an experimental survey will be conducted across the country this year and due measures will be taken for the successful outcome of the census.
This will be the third census of the DPRK population. The previous two censuses were carried out in 1993 and 2008.
