PHNOM PENH, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia cracked down on 92 human trafficking-related cases in 2016, arresting 113 suspects including eight foreigners, the national police website said Wednesday.

"Some 298 victims had been rescued," the website said, adding that 91 of them were under the age of 18.

Among the 92 cases, 53 involved with human trafficking and prostitution, and 39 related to child sex purchases, it said.

Lieutenant General Yuk Sokha, deputy supreme commissioner of the national police, attributed the active crackdown on human trafficking cases last year to close cooperation between police and partner organizations as well as relevant institutions.
