SEOUL, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Thousands of Samsung Group workers were evacuated on Friday from its headquarters in South Korea's capital city Seoul after police received a report that an identified explosive was placed inside the building.
According to local broadcaster YTN, some 3,000 employees of Samsung, the country's biggest family-controlled conglomerate, were urgently evacuated after police received the explosive report at around 11:20 a.m. local time.
No explosive was found after two hours of search by police. The Samsung employees returned to offices for work.
One text message written in English was sent to a person living in South Korea's port city of Busan that Samsung Life Insurance's building would be exploded.
The Samsung headquarters located in Seoul's upscale Gangnam district is composed of three high rises, including the one of Samsung Life Insurance.
The person who sent the message has yet to be identified. Police reportedly began an investigation into the case.
