SARAJEVO, April 20 (Xinhua) -- As the 29th international book fair here marked Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) famous writer Mak Dizdar and brought precious and rare editions of its National Museum, it has attracted thousands of visitors mostly looking for book deals.

Around 160 publishers are taking part in the book fair that kicked off on Wednesday. The cultural and sports center Skenderija and publishing house Sahinpasic as organizers expect to welcome about 62,000 visitors.

One of the most in-demand books is "A Cuisine of Bosnian Sefardi" written by Mirjam and Eli Tauber.

"The Sephardic cuisine in BiH was saved by the grandchildren of Sepharian women who were able to preserve the Spanish tradition, to use it and mix it with the local, Bosnian tradition, creating a completely autochthonous Bosnian Sefard kitchen. The book contains some recipes and some typical Bosnian dishes that Sefardi accepted as theirs," said book author Tauber.

"This book is important and will partly save traditional Sephardic cuisine that has arrived in BiH 500 years ago," Tauber added.

To mark a century since the birth of famous BiH writer Mak Dizdar, the "Bosnian House" in the fair was renamed as "Mak's house."

Gorcin Dizdar, director of collaborating partner Foundation and grandson of Mak Dizdar, explained that Mak's poetry shows that it is not just a house but a symbol of "openness to the world, art, culture and everything that is beautiful."

Zvonko Tomic, a teacher, told Xinhua: "Since I was a little boy, I've been very interested in poetry written by Mak Dizdar and that is why I came to this stand. Dizdar is one of the best poetry writers."

As part of the fair, the National Museum of BiH will present rare editions of books that are difficult to find.

The annual book fair will last till April 24.
