RIYADH, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday the foiling of a blast attack on a oil distribution station of Saudi Oil Company (Aramco) in border city Jazan, Saudi Press Agency reported.
The agency said the forces intercepted a remotely controlled boat that was planted with high-grade explosives in the middle of the sea. It said the boat exploded before reaching its target.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning and the foiling operation was carried out by border guard personnel, the ministry spokesperson said.
He said that the vessel was spotted leaving the Yemeni waters and started speeding after crossing the Saudi water, in which it was heading to the unit that is specialized in distributing oil products.
The forces shot at the empty boat and damaged its engine.
The spokesperson blamed Houthi militias in Yemen of being involved in the bombing attempt.
