HANOI, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam collected some 13.98 billion U.S. dollars in budget revenue as of April 14, representing 26.1 percent of the yearly estimates, according to the country's General Statistics Office on Wednesday.
Of which, domestic collection was 253.6 billion Vietnamese dong (11.22 million dollars), oil and gas revenue was 13 billion Vietnamese dong (1 million dollars) and collection from import-export activities was 49.9 billion Vietnamese dong (2.2 million dollars ).
Over the four-month period, total budget expense was estimated at 336.8 billion Vietnamese dong (some 14.9 million dollars), accounting for 24.2 percent of the 2017's yearly estimates. As a result, budget deficit was reported at 0.92 billion dollars, which is far lower than the 2016's level of 8.49 billion dollars.
Vietnam's budget collection estimates for 2017 was set based on projection that the country's GDP will grow 6.8 percent against 2016, crude oil price will be 50 dollars per barrel and the foreign exchange rate will be stable around 22,300 Vietnamese dong/USD.
