Int'l choir competition, kite, food festivals to be held in Vietnam

HANOI, May 9 (Xinhua) -- An international choir competition, kite and food festival as well as other sport races will be held in Vietnam's central Quang Nam province on June 7-14 within the framework of the sixth Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2017.

Under the theme "Quang Nam, Connecting Cultural Heritage," the festival will take place in Quang Nam cities of Hoi An and Tam Ky, the organizers said on Tuesday.

The festival will be kicked off with the fifth Vietnam International Choir Competition Hoi An 2017 on June 6-10.

The competition will draw the participation of nearly 32 choral groups (among them, 24 foreign ones) and about 1,500 artists from 15 countries and regions.

An International Kite Festival will take place on An Bang beach of Hoi An city and Tam Thanh beach of Tam Ky city on June 8-10.

Besides, during the festival days, in Hoi An city, there will be an International Food Festival, the meeting place of international and national famous chefs.

Quang Nam, some 650 km south of capital Hanoi, is home to Hoi An ancient town and My Son sanctuary, which have been listed as world cultural heritage sites by UNESCO since 1999.
