AMMAN, June 3 (Xinhua) -- A Jordanian soldier was injured on Saturday in a clash with a group of terrorists who were trying to enter Jordan from Syria, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

Armed terrorists affiliated to a terrorist group who were riding three motorcycles tried to penetrate the Jordanian territories coming from Syria, a source at the Jordan Armed Forces said Saturday.

The terrorists tried to target military posts of the Jordanian army near Al Rukban camp for Syrian refugees, which is a makeshift camp located at the no man's land between Jordan and Syria.

The Jordanian border guards engaged with the terrorist group and destroyed the three motorcycles and killed all the terrorists.

One Jordanian soldier was injured in the attack and he was reported in a stable medical condition.

The source said all Jordanian armed forces were on high alert and will respond to any attack or threat with an iron of fist.

The border area with Syria has been a site for repeated attempts by terrorists to penetrate Jordan.
