NAIROBI, June 7 (Xinhua) -- UK-based Newcastle Falcons back-row Joshua Chisanga of Kenya has been named in the Kenya rugby 15s Simba XVs team that will travel to Kampala, Uganda for first leg of the 2017 Elgon Cup on Saturday.

Chisanga, who became the first Kenyan to play in the English Aviva Premiership top-flight rugby competition returns to the national team for the first time since he signed with Newcastle and is expected to start at number 8.

His move forced the player to miss the entire 2016 international season with his comeback coming at a time when Kenya are out to bounce back after their narrow 29-30 defeat to Germany in their first match of the 2017 campaign last month.

South African head coach, Jerome Paarwater appointed Darwin Mukidza as the stand in captain with regular skipper Wilson Kopondo ruled out by a rib injury sustained in their game against Germany.

KCB Lions RFC captain, Curtis Lilako has been brought to the team to strengthen the Simbas pack having recently led his local team to register back-to-back the domestic league Kenya Cup and Enterprise Cup double.

Isaac Adimo of SportPesa Harlequins RFC is expected to boost the backline in the number 10 position with Davies Chenge, Eric Kerre and Martin Owila the other back rows in the side.
