KIEV, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's grain exports reached a new record high in the 2016-2017 marketing year, the country's Agriculture Ministry said on Monday.

Between July 1, 2016, and June 30, 2017, Ukraine supplied overseas 43.8 million tons of cereals, up 11 percent year on year, the ministry said in a statement.

According to the statement, the exports have increased due to the bumper grain harvest of 66 million tons in 2016.

In 2017, Ukraine's grain harvest is expected to fall to about 62 million tons due to unfavorable weather conditions, particularly, dry spring.

Ukraine has set the previous grain exports record in the 2015-2016 marketing year, supplying abroad 39.5 million tons of crops.
