RABAT, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- The 20th edition of African Cinema Festival will take place in the Moroccan central city of Khouribga from Sept. 9-16, the organizers announced in a statement on Tuesday.

The festival was scheduled to start on September 2, but organizers decided to delay it a week later as the first date will coincide with Eid Al Adha.

Up to 14 feature films from 14 countries will compete for the festival's prestigious Grand Prix Sembene Ousmane, according to the festival's statement.

The festival jury consists of seven members and will be presided over by the Moroccan poet and author Abdellatif Laabi.

Launched in 1977, the Khouribga African Film Festival is considered one of the oldest film festivals in the North African kingdom.

The festival aims to promote filmmaking in Africa, highlight its potentials and strengthen exchange and cooperation between African producers.
