Auxiliary patrol brigade helps protect 60 finless porpoises in E China

Auxiliary patrolmen check the fishing net on a boat in the finless porpoise nature reserve in Anqing of east China's Anhui Province, Aug. 10, 2017. An auxiliary patrol brigade, among which 6 are former fishermen, began its mission June 2017 protecting the 60 finless porpoises along the 60-kilometer-long section of Yangtze River in the Province. Telephone application is used in their routine missions to track and observe the dolphin-like mammal's life, provide necessary protection and monitor the pollutant and illegal fishing in the reserve.
