HANOI, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's traditional opera Quan Am Thi Kinh has been chosen to be performed at reconciliation concerts on the occasion of World Reconciliation Day, the Vietnam Cheo Theater said on Wednesday.
Sept. 9 is designated World Reconciliation Day by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The events commemorating World Reconciliation Day include holding conciliation concerts in big cities in the world, publishing and evaluating initiatives on reconciliation and peace, and presenting the global educator award for peace and innovation.
Quan Am Thi Kinh (Goddess of Mercy) will be staged on Sept. 1 in Vietnam's capital city of Hanoi, and then in the United States, the theater said.
